Loaded NZ was founded in 2010 by Blackie with a vision to create a clay target shooting experience that was open, exciting, and accessible to everyone — not just those involved in traditional shooting clubs.
Set on 500 acres of rolling farmland in Pyes Pa, just outside Tauranga, Loaded NZ quickly established itself as a unique destination for shooters of all experience levels. With big country, wide-open spaces, and a passion for the sport, the range has grown to become the largest clay target shooting field in New Zealand.
Today, under new ownership, we are proud to continue that legacy. Whether you're trying clay shooting for the first time or you're a seasoned shooter looking for your next challenge, Loaded NZ offers an authentic outdoor experience where everyone can enjoy the thrill of the sport in a welcoming and memorable setting.
The Range
At the heart of Loaded NZ are three unique shooting fields, each offering six different target presentations. That's a huge variety of shots - clays that climb, dive, cross and roll, designed to replicate the unpredictability of real-life game shooting.
It means every visit is a fresh challenge. Beginners get a thrilling, achievable introduction to the sport, while experienced shooters get the variety they need to keep sharpening their skills. And it all plays out against the backdrop of the Bay of Plenty's stunning rural scenery.

our environment
At Loaded NZ our appreciation for the rural environment comes with a responsibility to protect it for future generations. We are committed to operating in a way that minimises our environmental impact while preserving the natural beauty of the property and surrounding landscape.
Sustainability is incorporated into our day-to-day operations through a range of practical initiatives. We actively recycle paper, cardboard, glass and other materials generated through business activities. All spent shotgun cartridges are collected and recycled, allowing valuable materials to be recovered and reused rather than sent to landfill. We have also made conscious choices regarding the products used on the shooting range. Our clay targets are biodegradable and designed to break down naturally over time, reducing their impact on the land. In addition, we utilise ammunition fitted with fibre wads rather than plastic wads, helping to minimise waste across the property.
We recognise that the rural environment is one of Loaded’s greatest assets, areas of land are being retired and through strategic planting of native trees and shrubs we aim to improve our habitat for native wildlife. We are committed to continually seeking opportunities to improve our sustainability practices.
